All the Newspapers Endorse Dan Duffy!

Chicago Tribune

Dan Duffy Endorsed by The Chicago Tribune October 14, 2012

Republican Sen. Dan Duffy, of Lake Barrington, has been calling out his colleagues since the first time he rose to speak on the Senate floor, when he accused leaders in both parties of enabling the crimes of Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Duffy says Senate leadership has "punished" him — moving his parking space, shutting off his microphone while he's speaking, that sort of thing — but he won't muzzle himself. Duffy says a lot of the right things: about pension reform, school choice, workers' comp, the need to repair the state's business climate and ethics reforms — including, not surprisingly, term limits on legislative leaders. . . . . . Taxpayers are lucky to have him on their side. . . . . . . Duffy is endorsed.

There is so much serious work to do in Illinois, it’s essential that voters send the strongest candidates to the Legislature whether incumbent or otherwise. Dan Duffy, R-Lake Barrington, has been a strong voice in Springfield during his first term as state senator of the 26th District. We endorse him for another term. The 46-year-old computer consulting business owner brings the needed perspective of a small business owner to the Legislature. He has demonstrated in words and deeds that he is frustrated with the same things that frustrate most residents about state government. Duffy favors aggressive pension reform starting with legislators themselves. While a drop in the bucket compared with the state’s $83 billion pension liability for public employees, it sets the right tone. He also is co-sponsor of a bill to repeal Illinois’ 67-percent income tax hike. . . . . . . Duffy has been a strong legislator who should get another opportunity to shake things up in Springfield.

The Chicago Sun-Times Endorses Dan Duffy for State Senate District 26

- October 28, 2008

We like the fresh ideas and energy of Republican Dan Duffy for this far northwest suburban district. The 42-year-old Lake Barrington resident started a computer consulting business and would bring to Springfield first-hand knowledge about how health care costs and taxes affect the business climate in Illinois. As a Republican, he could help tilt the scales from the Democrats, who seem incapable of using their majority power for good. (Excerpted)

We are endorsing Duffy. A 42-year-old Lake Barrington resident, Duffy states that his goal if elected is to reduce spending and taxes. Duffy said another of his top priorities if elected will be to change the anti-business climate in Illinois. Duffy also favors ethics reform and more transparency in government. Duffy is knowledgeable about statewide issues and would be a fine state senator for the 26th District. (Excerpted)

Daily Herald Endorses Dan M. Duffy for State Senate District 26
- October 21, 2008

Dan Duffy earns our support for his advocacy of Illinois businesses and for his grasp of issues facing our state. His ideas for handling finances - a Web site where you could view every check written by state government? - add a refreshing voice to widespread calls for reform. (Excerpted)

- Oct. 9, 2008

As a small business owner, Dan Duffy found out how hard it was to struggle with the costs of taxes and health
care. One of the biggest issues Duffy wants to take on is corruption throughout the state government. Duffy has been successful throughout his business career. He has taken on more responsibility and leadership roles with groups like the Illinois Leadership Council for the National Federation of Independent Business and the Lake and Cook County Area Action Council for Independent Businesses. He continues to fight to resolve the issues facing small businesses and citizens throughout the area. This style would serve the residents of the 26th District well. We endorse Dan Duffy for the 26th District of the Illinois Senate. (Excerpted)

Lake County News-Sun Endorses Duffy for State Senate

“…Even U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin has called the gridlock among his fellow Democrats in Springfield embarrassing and fears it could lead to the loss of hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funds. That’s good enough for us to embrace Republicans running in House and Senate districts on Nov. 4 as a way to straighten this mess out. And, there’s some fine new-blood GOP candidates eager to serve in Springfield.

That being said, we endorse the following Republicans: Dan Duffy of Lake Barrington in the 26th Senate District to replace retiring Sen. William Peterson, R-Long Grove…”
